Hi, I’m Dan – the owner of For4Paws. My journey with dogs started in childhood with my family’s toy poodle, Happy, and has grown ever richer with my current dog, Skella, an Icelandic Sheepdog. Skella, who’s been my companion for over 16 years, is more than just a pet; she’s a member of my family and a constant reminder of the joy and wonder dogs bring into our lives.
Whether we’re exploring the great outdoors or simply enjoying a quiet moment together, there’s an indescribable pleasure in watching Skella interact with the world around her. These moments are what foster my deep connection with dogs and my experience is as diverse as it is deep, ranging from guiding energetic puppies through their first training classes to understanding the strength and personality of larger breeds like Rottweilers and Malamutes, and cherishing the unique needs of senior companions.
I founded For4Paws out of a passion for bonding with all dogs, no matter their age, size, or temperament. This is why I take a thoughtful, thorough, and attentive approach when first meeting dog owners and their beloved canine. I believe there’s no detail too small or question too trivial when it comes to your furry family member. I want to gather as much information as possible so I can understand your dog’s unique personality and needs to help me foster a deep connection with them.
I know trusting someone with your family member is a significant commitment, and I honour this trust with the utmost responsibility. The welfare of your dog is my top priority. As someone who has always been a protective parent to my own dogs, I pride myself on being an attentive ‘hover dad’ to every dog in my care ensuring they are always kept safe and happy.
